Wiscasset selectmen and the budget committee on Thursday, May 8, continue their joint work on the town’s next budget. Tonight’s workshop at the municipal building starts at 6 p.m.

The two panels have done more of their talks jointly this year, to try to offer voters a budget that the board and the committee more closely agree on. Last year’s budget took multiple town votes to resolve.

Plans call for selectmen to finalize the budget offer on May 22. More workshops will be held next week if tonight’s talks leave loose ends.

The budget goes to voters at a special town meeting on May 31.
