Call for sculpture: Celebrate Maine’s creative legacy
The Blaine House Commission, in collaboration with the Maine Arts Commission, invites Maine artists to submit existing three-dimensional sculptural works for acquisition and installation on the west lawn of the Blaine House, the historic residence of Maine’s governor.
This new public artwork will:
* Honor the leadership of Maine’s governors
*Reflect the land’s storied past, vibrant present, and hopeful future
*Celebrate the creativity and resilience of Maine’s people
Sited within gardens designed by the Olmsted Brothers (1920) and adjacent to the Maine State House, this installation will serve as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.
Opportunity details:
Budget: Up to $100,000 (including delivery and installation)
Eligibility: Professional public artists or artist teams who are full- or part-time residents of Maine
Submission deadline: Dec. 8, 2025
