Carol A. Pinkham
Carol A. Pinkham, 86, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, with her family by her side.
Carol was born on July 14, 1938 in Newagen, Maine, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Mabel L. Gamage. She attended Boothbay area schools.
In 1955, Carol married her former husband, Murray B. Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor and had three children.
Carol had many fond childhood memories of spending time in Newagen, and enjoyed rides with her daughter there in her later years. Although many things had changed and she battled dementia, she could still point out the houses of her grandparents and uncles. The memories brought her joy.
Carol had an incredible work ethic. In the late 60s and early 70s, she worked in Richmond, Maine at the Etonic Shoe Company, traveling to work in her little Volkswagen, beetle, sometimes one of the only cars on the road on a snowy morning.In the mid 70s Carol became a CNA and worked at the Brunswick Convalescent Center, until going to work at St. Andrews, when the nursing home was at the old hospital on St. Andrews Lane. She then transitioned to the new facility, at St. Andrews Village and worked there until her retirement.
Carol was an avid reader and loved to knit, both things her beloved mother loved to do.She enjoyed going shopping and traveling around with her friends. Always up to and eager to go anywhere!
Carol is survived by her daughter Cindy Pearce and husband Brady of Boothbay, daughter DeborahTodte and husband Robert of Boothbay, son Brian Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor, grandchildren Jason and Joshua Pearce of Boothbay, Shelby Pinkham and partner Jake Hodgdon of Boothbay Harbor, Lincoln Sample and wife Olivia Ryder of Brunswick, Nate Sample of Brunswick, and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Pearce and Graycin and Freyja Hodgdon.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother Dwight Gamage who passed away at the age of 8 of polio and sister Barbara Mathieson and husband Albert of Lincolnville, Maine.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Andrews Village for their care while she was with them.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery on Barters Island Road in Boothbay, Maine.
