Carole Lee Magnusson died peacefully on February 23, 2014, with her family by her side, after a battle with brain cancer.

Born August 28, 1939, Carole was a native of Cleveland, Ohio where she worked as a registered nurse for many years. She and her late second husband, Dr. Magnus Magnusson, retired to Southport in 1995 where they resided for 13 years.

Carole was an active member of the community and enjoyed boating, gardening and bridge. She was a member of the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, a charter member of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a member of the Southport Island Association and the Boothbay Region Garden Club.

Since 2008, she resided in West Chester, Pa., where she enjoyed golf and bridge.

There will be a memorial service in West Chester, Pa., on March 22.
