Be at Brady’s on Union Street in Boothbay Harbor on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at high noon to celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

Said organizer Jim Singer of  Southport, “There will be a Marine Corps 246th birthday cake, and we’ll do the traditional cake cutting ceremony with my Marine Corps Mameluke sword.  Oldest Marine present gets first piece, youngest gets second. This will be our first time without John Druce being oldest!”

After the cake cutting tune up the old “pipes” for a rousing rendition of the Marine Corps hymn.
