Edgecomb selectmen on Monday, Dec. 2, will discuss any new developments regarding a cemetery on Old County Road, board chairman Jack Sarmanian said.

The Grace Baptist Church of Chelsea had offered Edgecomb the cemetery after a year trying to sell the Edgecomb Baptist Church.

Potential buyers had raised liability concerns about the cemetery which comes with the church, a real estate agent for Grace Baptist Church has said.

Since then, negotiations on a possible contract for the property have begun; those negotiations remain ongoing, the church’s real estate agent, Lisa Kalloch, said December 2.

Kalloch said she could not say at this time if the potential sale would include the cemetery.

Tonight’s selectmen’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. at town hall.
