Clamshell Quilters to meet
On Monday, March 13 we will meet at the Faith Baptist Church in Newcastle. Our sew and chat session will begin at 2 p.m. Be sure to bring something to eat and drink if you plan to stay through the evening program.
At 5:30 p.m, Beth Ditkoff will present a special show of her quilts, followed by a lesson in how to foundation piece a four leaf clover block, just in time for St. Patrick's Day. The pattern is free on Forestquilting.com. On that page, click on "Index for Free Paper Piecing Patterns." From that index, click on "Four Leaf Luck." Please print out the two page pattern to prepare for the demo. You'll also need to bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies, rotary cutter and small mat, a ruler with clear 1/4 inch markings (or an add-a-quarter ruler if you have one). For fabrics, each leaf will use four different greens and some neutral fabrics for the background. Think scraps here: four inches or larger.
Clamshell Quilters is a local chapter of the statewide, non-profit Pine Tree Quilters Guild, Inc. Guests and new members are always welcome.
