'Cocktails & Chrome' this weekend
The countdown is on to Saturday, Aug. 29 for Cocktails & Chrome, the Railway Village Museum’s 3rd annual event in support of the Museum’s “Driving History Forward” capital campaign for the preservation of Maine’s history and automotive heritage.
Taking place from 6 to 9 p.m., the one-of-a-kind event will feature a cocktail hour and tour of the Antique Auto Museum, lobster bake on the village green, music by the Don Campbell Band, dancing, and train rides. Tickets – $100 for Railway Village Museum members and $110 per person for non-members. Purchase tickets at https://railwayvillage.org/ or call 207-304-0486.
The Railway Village Museum is proud to share the “Driving History Forward” campaign and details for the development of an 8,000-square-foot multi-purpose campus building inclusive of an education and technology center; auto workshop and garage, museum curation and archival library; community atrium, showroom, and think tank space; and nature-based amphitheater connected to campus trails. This community-impact project will enhance the Museum’s cultural, historical, and educational offerings; strengthen the Museum’s connection to the community with hands-on learning and volunteer opportunities; and celebrate and preserve our Maine heritage.
“As president of the Railway Village Museum, I invite you to join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone,” said Caleb Hodgdon. “This new building is an investment in the future of the Museum, and we look forward to sharing this special day with our community. Thank you for your support.”
