Come to Captain Fish’s Motel Nov. 23 for free ‘stuff’

Tue, 11/12/2019 - 9:30am

The response has been overwhelming from our community to establish the Eastside Waterfront Park. We have successfully met our Phase One goal thanks to donations of all types coming from 650+ donors and amounting to $3.2 million.

Boothbay Harbor Waterfront Preservation, a 501 (c) (3) public charity, is planning to give away all the furniture and household goods from the former Cap’n Fish’s Motel, 65 Atlantic Avenue, Boothbay Harbor in preparation for its eventual demolition.

Items to be given away include: full size and king beds, mirrors, chairs, desks, TVs, phones, mini refrigerators, director’s chairs, bedside tables, lamps, curtains, shower curtains, sheets, bedspreads, pillows and much more miscellaneous stuff.

The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Area nonprofits and volunteers will be there to lend a hand and if needed, will have phone numbers of short hop delivery trucks to be available for hire. All items are in “as is” condition and are not intended for resale.

Parking will be off site as directed by the traffic control volunteers and police department. Please bring boxes, totes, or bags you may need for sheets, towels, comforters, etc. If you have questions about the event, please email us at bbhwaterfrontpreservation@gmail.com

Any financial contributions to BHWP will be gratefully accepted!

    Please mark your calendars!

Bad weather date is Nov. 24 from noon to 3 p.m.
