Commissioners finalize FY 23 budget calendar

On July 19, Lincoln County Commissioners announced their Fiscal Year 23 budget calendar. On July 6, a notice was sent to outside organizations seeking proposed FY 23 overall budgets. On July 8, each department received budget request forms. On July 29, caucus notification letters were sent to each town. Letters were also sent to the legislative delegation regarding budget advisory committee delegates.
On Aug. 25, an advertisement will be placed in the Boothbay Register/Wiscasset Newspaper and Lincoln County News to run weeks ending on Sept. 2 and Sept. 9. On Sept. 15, a caucus electing budget committee members will be held at 3 p.m. in the courthouse. On Sept. 22, a request summary will be sent to budget advisory committee members, department managers, non-profits and towns along with a budget calendar. By Sept. 22, budget books will be mailed or delivered to budget advisory committee members.
At 3 p.m. on Sept. 22, a public hearing will be held for presenting FY 23 budget requests by the county administrator at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission office. On Oct. 14, there will be a budget advisory committee workshop and planning session beginning at 9 a.m. in the planning office. On Nov. 3, an informational meeting will be held at 1 p.m. with the budget advisory committee and legislative delegation at the planning office.
Dec. 20 is the statutory deadline for FY 2023 county budget approval by commissioners.
