During the last week of March and the first week of April you can take a class to increase your Microsoft Office 10 skills, learn, paint a colorful garden pot, learn about organic gardening, or how to work with digital photos on your computer.
In Digital Photos, Learn to download photos onto your computer, resize, edit, save, organize and email photos. The class is on Tuesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 28 from 6-8 p.m. and the fee is $28.
Make a Beachy Wind Chime with materials such as driftwood, seaglass, beads, utensils, shells, fishline, and other objects. Or you can, eliminate the “tingling” sound to make a mobile you can hang in a window or outdoors. The class is on Wednesday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m. Fees are $15 for the class and $8 for materials paid to the instructor.
Join Manon Lewis for The Glazed Garden and give your garden, deck, or home a splash of color. Painted clay pots have a variety of uses from utensil holders for an outdoor party to gifts. The class is on Tuesday, April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.: paint flowers, abstract shapes, seashells, use a sponge technique, or your own design on a clay pot. Fees are $15 for the class and $8 paid to the instructor.
In Microsoft Office 10 Review Learn about the new features of Word and Excel including posting documents online, text effects, data bars, and using the new navigation pane and toolbars. And what's new in Picture Manager, Publisher and other applications.
Bring your questions and get answers. Prerequisite: experience with Windows and MS office. The class is on Tuesday, April 2, Thursday, April 4, and Saturday, April 9 from 6-8 p.m., and the cost is $30.
In Grow Your Own Organic Garden, taught by a Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) member, learn to grow your own vegetables in a sustainable manner, the basics of soil science, enriching your soil to produce healthy, high-yielding plants.
Other topics are: the basics of compost, weed control strategies, and methods of natural insect control. All are welcome, first-timers to experienced gardeners. The class is on Wednesday, April 3 from 6-9 p.m. Please register by April 1. Registration fee: $5 plus $5 paid to instructor at class.
