Conservation District’s 70th anniversary banquet Oct. 18
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 4 to 8:30 p.m., Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District is celebrating 70 years of conserving land and water resources in Knox and Lincoln counties with a special annual banquet. The District invites our friends, neighbors, volunteers, and cooperators to join us at beautiful Jewell Lodge at Camp Wavus on Damariscotta Lake for appetizers, dinner, music, a cash bar, and raffles.
Come early and relax on the deck or by the lake, meet our supervisors and staff, view a scrolling slide show of District history, and … eat, drink and be merry with conservation friends and family. The District’s annual banquet is known for good pie — and lots of it — and this event will be no exception!
The indoor festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with a cash bar by Savage Oakes Vineyard with local beer and wine, local food appetizers, music by Jim, Peter & Emily, and a chance to buy tickets for raffle prizes donated by area businesses and friends. A delicious dinner buffet with a variety of local food options, catered by Jewell Lodge, will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by dessert — including pie, of course! — and raffle prize drawings. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate 70 years of conservation, learn a little about district history, see what we are up to now, and catch up with friends, old and new.
Tickets for the banquet are $15 per person; registration deadline is Oct. 12. For more information or to register for this event, please call the District office at 596-2040 or visit our website at www.knox-lincoln.org/70-anniversary.
