Morris Farm's second annual CorgiWalk on Saturday, July 28 had about a dozen visitors.

Corgi and other breed owners were invited to the farm to socialize with other owners and enjoy refreshments, take chances on raffle items, and learn about the Lincoln County Animal Shelter/Coastal Humane Society.

Deb Burk of GoTees Farm in Dresden demonstrated the TTouch method for calming excitable dogs. A rubbing motion around the mouth, “helps them know they are safe,” she said.

Kim and Greg Bickel of Portland brought Zooey, a 9-year-old corgi to the event.

Morris Farm Office Manager Angie Richards is a corgi owner. Rory and Alice have competed and are champions at many shows, she said.

“Rory writes stories,” said Richards. Rory is the main character in solving mysteries such as the “Chicken Revolt” which has appeared in serial form on the farm’s webpage.

“We learned a lot,” Richards about the event's second year.

The farm promoted an online raffle, but Richards said, "People don’t want to give out credit card information online." She also plans to move the event to the fall next year for greater attendance.

The raffle of donated items benefited Morris Farm and CorgiAid, Inc., according to a press release.
