Dear Editor:

In Paula Anderson’s column in the July 13 edition of the Boothbay Register, she had a little poem that brought back memories. I read it – or told it – to my children when they were young.

In her column, it was attributed to “anonymous.” But indeed, credit is due to Ogden Nash and, I believe, the real words are:

“I eat my peas with honey/I’ve done it all my life/It makes the peas taste funny/but it keeps them on my knife.”

Please give Ogden Nash the credit.
