Look for organic vegetables and another year’s blasting in Alna. The planning board April 5 nodded Crooker Construction’s annual business permit and a permanent one for Underground Beets, 264 Golden Ridge Road.

Andrew Fuller and Tessa Fullmer told the board those are the right spellings on their last names. Fuller and Fullmers’ application states they will grow organic vegetables for sale off-site. The applicants plan a wooden sign about six square feet and will offer some community supported agriculture (CSA’s), or subscriptions to a harvest, according to mofga.org

When Fuller and Fullmer are ready, the town could announce the CSA’s via its email list, Chair Jim Amaral said. He looked forward to seeing their vegetables at Rising Tide and at Wiscasset Farmers Market. “And I hope we have a good spring, with enough rain, but not too much,” he added, smiling, in the meeting at the town office and on Zoom.

The board agreed to renew Crooker Construction’s business permit on the condition Crooker do water tests for any residents who ask.

And the board set a 5:30 p.m. April 27 site walk at 303 Head Tide Road where Jennifer and Timothy Lee seek to renovate two cabins in the shoreland zone. Each is about 75 feet from the Sheepscot River, Amaral said. The board also asked the applicants to add more information to their sketch. The board plans to take up the proposal again in May.
