Dandelion jelly beginners class at Edgecomb Community Church

Sun, 05/08/2022 - 10:15am

Edgecomb Community Church, UCC, will be holding two classes with instructor, Mary Jane Wells, on making dandelion jelly. There will be two separate classes, one to be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 10 a. m., and the other on Sunday, May 22 at 1 p.m.

During the 2-hour class you will learn all the skills needed in making your own honey tasting nectar of Spring! If you have dandelions around your yard, pluck the yellow heads and bring them with you with a pair of scissors! You will need a lot of dandelions so bring as many as you can!

Please call email edgecomb.church@gmail or call the church office at 882-4060 and leave a message if you would like to attend. Also, you are welcome to bring a friend or two or three. We’ll need an approximate headcount to be sure to have enough materials for everyone.

During the class you will be given a step-by-step hands-on experience along with an instructional handout in how to make dandelion jelly. These same instructions can also be used to make peony jelly, lilac jelly, violet jelly, etc.

There will be time for jam or jelly related questions and by the end of the two hours, you will be ready to make your own jelly or jams. Hope you will be able to join us for some jelly making!

Edgecomb Community Church UCC is located at 15 Cross Point Road, Edgecomb, Maine. All are welcome. The event is free.
