This Friday, Nov. 22, the fundraiser For the Love of Deb (Holmes Beam) is being held at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor,  5-8:30 p.m. The evening will include a silent and a live auction;  light refreshments and entertainment. The silent auction will run from 5-8 p.m. The live auction will begin at the discretion of auctioneer Doug Gimbel ... maybe 6:30-ish ...

Beam has been fighting cancer since last September, and it is a fight that rages on. She needs our help, though she would never ask for it. Close friends and family are holding this event to give her some financial peace of mind when she is no longer able to work.

Some of the fabulous auction items include paintings by Andrea Peters, Harry Day, Fran Scannell, and a pen and ink by Dwight Eames; an Earle Barlow print w/$50 gift certificate; a 90-minute sunset charter for up to six passengers aboard the Breakaway III; Maine State Music Theater guest passes for two adults to two shows: “Titanic” and “Something Rotten;” two adult tickets for Cabbage Island Clambakes; two adult tickets to Monhegan Island; tickets to two shows and dinner at the Carousel Music Theater;  a stay at a condo in Old Orchard Beach; a Beatles Night Package: two tickets to two performances of the Beatles Night Show at State Theater, Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday matinee Dec. 1 with an overnight stay at the Press Hotel in King Superior Suite on Saturday, and a $100 gift card to Restaurant Local 188; an eight-day Bahamas/Disney World Cruise; and so, so much more ... We are in awe of the amazing silent and live auction items that have been so generously donated.

Tickets are $25 per person, and they are going fast! Live auction bidding numbers are on the back of each ticket. You can buy them at Harbor Tech Solutions in the Meadow Mall, Boothbay Harbor and through Lisa Kristoff at Boothbay Register until noon on Friday. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door (Smith Street entrance). Please remember when buying your tickets to have the exact amount, cash or check, whether you buy in advance or at the door, please. Thank you!

The Opera House staff will have a cash bar, with soft drinks also available, set up in the main performance hall where the event is being held.

If you are not able to attend the event, but wish to make a donation, send checks to Becky (Beam) Kash, 14 Summer St., Hampden ME 04444. Checks should be made payable to Becky.
