Artist Barbara Fischer Eldred of East Boothbay is one of eight artists participating in "Narrative," a show at Old Salts Gallery in Camden celebrating all forms of writing, illustrating and storytelling.

The show includes Eldred's owls and crows which figure large in myth and symbolism, along with her handmade, blank-page journal books.

Other artists will show wood-carved animals evoking tales and fables, polymer clay jewelry, glasswork and illustrative books.

"Narrative" opens Saturday, June 30, with a special opening for children from 1 to 3 p.m. From 5 to 8 p.m. there will be a second opening for adults with live music.

Old Salts Gallery is located at 25 Mechanic Street at the corner of Washington Street in Camden.
