Edgecomb Column: Feed Our Scholars April 5
Flowers of the Forest: Let us say farewell to Elizabeth Goodrich, a former Edgecomb resident, who had been living with family in Alna since her husband, Charles Goodrich Jr., died. Saturday, April 5, is the big spaghetti party for the Feed Our Scholars organization. It will go from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Phillip’s Church, Wiscasset, and includes a cornucopia of silent auction items. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under age 12. Call 207-882-7184 or 207-882-7647 to make a reservation or get more information. Feed Our Scholars is a childhood hunger initiative sponsored by the church. This dinner is to raise funds for the Wiscasset Backpack Program, which serves needy kids in the greater Wiscasset area.
And of course, Sunday, April 6, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., come all ye to Le Garage restaurant for Lea Wait’s publication party for her new Wiscasset historical juvenile, “Uncertain Glory,” about the first few weeks of the Civil War.
