The ramifications of belonging to the newly defined state House District #89 was the lead agenda item at the September 22 meeting of the Edgecomb Democratic Town Committee.

The new district puts Edgecomb in with Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport, and also Westport Island and the western half of South Bristol. Since State Rep. Bruce MacDonald has termed out, one important challenge will be to select a candidate to represent District #89.

Additional agenda items included the coming campaign by U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud for governor of Maine, lining up volunteers for driving, telephoning, and all the other tasks that a political campaign entails.

Among those attending this meeting were chair Lisa Miller and vice chairman of the Lincoln County Democratic Committee Valarie Johnson.
