Edgecomb lists Lallis property with realtor
On Monday, July 1, Edgecomb selectmen unanimously agreed to list the Lallis property with local realtor Nancy Carleton.
The town got the McKay Road lot as part of an 80-plus-acre parcel in 2004. In 2017, the town decided to offer a 3.3-acre portion for bids and informed abutters, giving them first refusal last fall.
At Monday's meeting, Carleton suggested a $25,000 listing price. Selectmen agreed. The board approved a one-year contract with Carleton.
The town has opened bids for the fire department’s Engine #4 and will accept sealed bids until July 15 at 6 p.m. At that time, the selectmen will review any offers.
The department has reported Engine #3 is now in service.
Selectmen and attendees gave a standing ovation to recording secretary Katie Wurtzell, who is leaving the area. Wurtzell has assisted selectmen, preparing their meeting agendas and minutes and working on the annual town report since May 2017. She received an Edgecomb T-shirt as a memento of her service.
The board meets next at 6 p.m. Monday, July 15 at the town office.
