Eighth annual Claw Down canceled

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Claw Down Committee announced in an Aug. 29 press release, the eighth annual Claw Down has been canceled. The event had been set for the evening of Sept. 12 at Boothbay Railway Village.

The committee said the cancellation is due to the loss of a new partner who pulled out weeks ago. Working hard to secure a new partner and reschedule dates, the committee decided to cancel due to concerns it would not be able “to present the best event possible without compromising the quality we have delivered to the community over the past (seven) years as the event has grown.”

The committee said it will be refunding advance tickets.

Said the committee, “We have already begun working on reshaping and rebuilding a bigger and better Claw Down event for next year. We will announce the date and location as they are confirmed. We once again apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused.”
