The public is invited to a weekend of lectures and presentations to consider the topic of end-of-life care from a liberal arts perspective. The two-day symposium, organized by Alex Doering, a senior at Bowdoin College and a CHANS Home Health Care Hospice Volunteer, is being held on the Bowdoin campus. All events will take place in Beam Classroom, Visual Arts Center, unless otherwise noted. No reservations are required; the event is free and open to the public.

The keynote for the symposium is actress Megan Cole, best known for her leading role in Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, "WIT." Cole will be performing a free-admission, solo version of her play, "The Wisdom of WIT," at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 28, in Kresge Auditorium, also in the Visual Arts Center. Individual session topics will range from what art can tell us about ancient views of death and dying, to how modern day healthcare reform can improve palliative medicine in the United States.
