Ernestine Olson
Ernestine (Tina) Olson, 85, of Boothbay, Maine, died at home on Aug. 12, 2025.
She was born April 10, 1940 in New York, New York. At the age of 5, Tina and her sister taken in by their Uncle Pete and Alice Merryweather in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Tina married Lloyd (Ole) Olson in Malibu, California on Oct. 6, 1973. At the time they were building a schooner in Huntington Beach, California along with two other couples. In 1976 after living aboard and cruising the west coast of California and Central America they sold their interest in the boat and then spent several months working their way up to Boothbay where Tina had a summer home. The idea was that they would come to Maine for the summer and then decide where they wanted to go and live next. That conversation has never happened as they just settled in and have been here ever since.
Tina was a very caring and open individual who always brought something special to each and everyone that she came into contact with. One of her biggest loves were her dogs, especially her Corgies. She was a very talented and successful dog trainer earning many high honors in both the breed ring and especially in the performance events such as agility. She was also a very talented artist creating many beautiful hand hooked rugs. In her final years she discovered yoga where she had many new friends.
In honor of Tina if you all would just find peace in your heart and let that flow to all those around you.
