Fall Foliage Festival stage will rock ‘n’ roll
This year’s Fall Foliage Festival stage is going to rock, roll, swing and hop.
Entertainment Coordinator Mellissa Thornton has finalized the schedule for the October 12 and 13 Fall Foliage Festival at the Boothbay Railway Village and it’s a line-up that is sure to please all festival-goers.
Saturday opens at 10 a.m. with singer-songwriter Fay Christy performing songs of the sea and popular ballads. Up next at 11 a.m., Scott Rittall and the Rick Turcotte Project will treat guests to their original Americana songbook inspired by Rick’s many years in Austin, Texas.
For the first time ever, the Fall Foliage Festival stage will welcome the Boothbay Region Community Band (aka the Alumni Band) decked out in red and white for a 1 p.m. performance. To end the day, Noel Arrington and Paul Johnson will treat guests to their unique blend of vocals and guitar.
On Sunday, the Spaceheaters, known for their original music as well as covers of anything from Miles Davis to the Grateful Dead, are on stage at both 10 a.m. and noon. Toes will be tapping as the Oyster Creek Fiddlers perform at 11 a.m.
Paul Johnson is back again at 1 p.m., but this time accompanied by Amber Jones. Sunday, and the Festival, is topped off with a double length set by the Holy Mackerels at 2 p.m.
The Holy Mackerels acoustic take on hits by Van Morrison, James Taylor, Mark Knofler and more is the perfect ending to the Fall Foliage Festival.
The Fall Foliage Festival is hosted by the Boothbay Railway Village and the Boothbay Information Center. This true New England Craft Fair features dozens of vendors of handmade items and fabulous food. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13. Admission is $2. Steam train tickets are an additional $5 each.
