On July 29, the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will once again hold a Hymn Sing at its 10 a.m. service. In lieu of the morning’s sermon, members and visitors will be invited to request their favorite hymns to be sung during the service. In the past, according to Organist Linda Adams, one of the most frequently requested hymns is “Here I am, Lord.” Other favorites have been “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Sweet Hour of Prayer.”

The tradition of encouraging requests for favorite hymns began last year and will continue each month containing a fifth Sunday. The next hymn sing will be held on Sept. 30.
