Gail Sullivan
Gail Andrews Sullivan, 89, of North Falmouth, MA died on July 9, 2025 at Royal Megansett Nursing Home. She was born and raised in Boothbay Harbor, ME to Russell and Avis Andrews.
Gail lived in Florida and Ohio before settling in Groton, CT where she lived for more than 50 years and made lifelong friends that she considered family. She worked in the butcher shop at Finast Supermarket before her children were born. Once her children were in school, she operated an in-home day care. Later she worked privately for families providing child care in their homes. Gail was happiest when there were young children and pets around.
For her 10th birthday, Gail asked for flower seeds and bulbs, beginning her love of gardening. She planted dozens every year just to see what would grow. She and Sully labored in the garden every summer so she could can the fruits of their labor and enjoy it for months to come.
A big fan of basketball, Gail could always be found watching the Celtics or UCONN games. She was especially excited when the UCONN women won the championship.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard, and all of her siblings, Joan Little, Daniel Andrews and Richard Andrews. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Dan) Baker of Hanover, MD and Cindy (Bill) LaRuffa of Falmouth, MA and her grandchildren ENS Alexander LaRuffa, US Navy and Richard LaRuffa.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Royal Megansett for their love and care for the past 6 years.
