The next meeting of Garden Club of Wiscasset is Oct. 7 in the dark blue, Education Center Building at Maine Tasting Center on Route 1 in Wiscasset with parking behind, on Old Bath Road.
The flower design program is at 11:30 a.m. with an Ikebana theme. A brief business meeting at 12:30 p.m. is followed at 1 p.m. by our program, “Stories of Maine’s Apples,” presented by John Bunker, Maine’s Apple Whisperer. Bunker is a farmer, author, artist, historian and educator. He has been a mentor to many aspiring and established apple growers, and both home and professional cider makers.
Bunker started Fedco Trees in 1984. He has tracked down many heirloom apple varieties in our beautiful state.
