Come join the Wiscasset Elementary community for the annual "Mangia, Mangia" Pasta Supper & Spring Swim fundraiser dinner, April 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the WES cafeteria.The school is at 83 Federal Street. For your dining pleasure, baked ziti, mac and cheese, mixed salad greens, freshly baked bread, and tons of delicious desserts will be served. The dinner will also feature dozens of raffle items. The dinner is $5 per person or $20 per family (two adults and up to five children under age 18). All proceeds benefit the elementary swim program sponsored by Partners in Education (PIE). On Wednesday, March 8, Boothbay Region High School cheerleaders and parents gathered at Boothbay Region Elementary School to celebrate a successful season under Coach Elizabeth Tilton. The team competed in six competitions this season and will be losing senior Emma Rideout after graduation. Emma plans to return as an assistant coach next season. The plaque recipients for the 2016-2017 Boothbay Region High School boys basketball team, awarded March 15, are, from left, Austin Campbell, Most Improved Player; Carter Babcock, Coaches Award; and Kyle Ames, Most Valuable Player. These three players, plus senior Jacob Leonard, were also honored by the Mountain Valley Conference coaches. Campbell and Babcock were named honorable mention all-stars and Ames was named a first team all-star. Leonard was named a second team all-star. Babcock was also named to the MVC All-Academic team. The Garden Club of Wiscasset will be having its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 13. It is an indoor/outdoor sale with perennials and shrubs, handmade hypertufa pots, a raffle and baked goods.
