Fourth through sixth graders at Southport Central School work on their laptop computers on a recent day. The Southport Island Association recently generously donated over $5,000 to purchase six new MacBook Air laptop computers for the classroom. With this donation, all SCS students in the three grades have the MacBook Airs to use for their daily instruction and upcoming state and local assessments. The school would like to thank the SIA for its generous donation. This truly positively impacts students' learning. Congratulations to the LincolnHealth and Central Lincoln County Adult Education Certified Nursing Assistant class. Graduation will be on Thursday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at Cove’s Edge, Damariscotta. Students are: Christine Barter, Karen Giuliano-Cook, Fonnie Hunt, Kristen Lee, Schuyler Manheim, Kathryn Meuse, Breanna Nichols and Jill Simmons. Instructor is Jennifer McIntire, RN. The club's next meeting will be Thursday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset. The program, "History of the Garden Club of Wiscasset," will be presented by club historian Margaret Holden. Refreshments will follow.
