‘Hope Can’t Be Stopped’ concert Aug. 1 in Boothbay

“Hope Can’t Be Stopped” – This is this year’s theme song for Hope Haitian Choir 2021! Even though our numbers are smaller this year due to no new or renewed visas from the embassy which has been closed, these ten young people, ages 11 to 20, are still on a mission to exclaim hope for those of us who so desperately need to hear it.

Hope Haitian Choir, with most of its members from Port au Prince, Haiti, has been touring the Eastern US every summer since 2012, excepting last summer, 2020. Their lives have been short, but they have seen and experienced unimaginable suffering in Haiti. Even still, they have smiles and exuberance from a joy that is contagious, which is what caused Director Barb House to begin this missionary journey with these kids, their parents and chaperones.

This year, they will be sharing that joy through music and dance and faith testimonies at 6 p.m. on the Boothbay Common on Sunday, Aug. 1. Don’t miss this special chance to participate in this concert of Living Hope! Admission is free, but there will be an opportunity to give a donation or purchase a CD, T-shirt, or other Haitian items. All donations help to fund the tour as well as other projects in Haiti.

The Choir is part of Hope Haitian Ministries, which also runs a church and school of over 350 children in the mountains of Haiti. For more details, contact Barb or Chuck at 633-7195. More information on the ministry can be found at www.hopehaitian.com
