January public grand jury report

The grand jury rose on Jan. 7 and 8 and released the following indictments for eight people in Lincoln County.

Jonathan Roberts, 44, of Waban, Massachusetts, was indicted on one count of Manslaughter, Class A; one count of Reckless Operation of a Watercraft, Class D; and Operating a Watercraft at Imprudent Speed, Class E; relating to the death on Aug. 2, 2018, of Kristen McKeller Nicholas, 32, of Camden, on Damariscotta Lake in Jefferson.  McKeller was swimming in the lake with a friend when a boat allegedly operated by Roberts struck her.  Roberts is scheduled for a hearing on Jan. 31 at 8:30 a.m.

Percy S.A. Nichols, 36, of Dresden, was indicted for Aggravated Assault, Class B; relating to the injury to Richard V. Nickles with the use of a dangerous weapon, a wooden club. The alleged crime occurred in Waldoboro on Sept. 22, 2018.

Daniel Chubbuck, 26, of Edgecomb, was indicted on one count of Burglary, Class C; two counts of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Class C; and two counts of Criminal Mischief, Class D, all associated with incidents that occurred from Aug. 11 to 13, 2018.  The alleged crimes occurred in Bristol and Boothbay, involving thefts and broken items from Hagar Enterprises in Bristol and T & D Variety in Boothbay. 

Jessie Brewer, 33, of Edgecomb, was indicted on one count of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Class C; and one count of Theft by Deception, Class  E; for incidents related to thefts from Hagar Enterprises in Bristol and Maine-ly Pawn in Damariscotta, on Aug. 11, 2018.

Kyle Gornto, 26, of Bath, was indicted on one count of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Class C; one count of Theft by Deception, Class E; one count of Criminal Mischief, Class D; and one count of Criminal Trespass, Class E; for incidents related to thefts from Hagar Enterprises in Bristol and Maine-ly Pawn in Damariscotta on Aug. 11, 2018.

Jose Nieves, 29, of Bath, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Assault, Class B; one count of Domestic Violence Assault, Class D; and Violation of Conditions of Release, Class E; for bodily injury to a member of his household in Boothbay Harbor on July 27, 2018.

Michael Bradley, 53, of Bristol, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Assault, Class B; one count of Driving to Endanger, Class C; one count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Class C; and one count of Failure to Report an Accident, Class E, for incidents related to the bodily injury of George H. Stouter that created a substantial risk of death or extended convalescence, in Bristol on Aug. 5, 2018.
