Join HVNC monthly walk
Not much is going on this week. We are working on the town report. All groups are asked to get their reports into Amy by email. Reports are needed from the selectmen, the school board, the planning board, the treasurer, the road commissioner, the fire department, the code enforcement officer and organizations in town. This is an “as soon as possible” request from the boss lady, Amy.
I used to wish folks happy birthday in the column, but I had a bad experience, so I stopped. Everyone has asked me why don't I do it; they liked it. So, if you do not want me to wish you happy birthday, email me at racelady23@yahoo.com.
I have missed work because of the worst cold I have ever had. The weather is getting to me, I guess. Yes, I know, old age, too.
I missed John Baird's birthday on February 22; I hope you had a nice day.
From Hidden Valley Nature Center: Naturalists gathered at HVNC for the “Monthly Walk.” The Maine Master Naturalists Program resumed on February 21. We are open to all levels of knowledge and experience and welcome others to come join. The program was founded in 2011 by a group of experienced naturalists. They created a rigorous and professional program training amateur naturalists, who in turn serve in their community. The aim is to educate the public, to get people out into nature and to weave our ecological preserves into the fabric of the community. Fifty-five persons have graduated from our program so far. It takes no fewer than 40 hours of volunteer service annually to run a land trust, nature center, schools and other nature based nonprofit organizations. This is our fourth year. To join, fill out application. For more information, visit www.mainemasternaturalist.org.
