Mark your calendars now for the annual lawn sale sponsored by the Lincoln County Historical Association. The event will be held rain or shine on the grounds of the 1811 Old Jail and Jailer’s house on Federal Street in Wiscasset, Saturday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to pay for continued maintenance of the historic buildings. Tours of both the Jailer’s residence and the Jail will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on the day of the sale.

The stewardship committee for the Old Jail welcomes donations for the sale. To date, the committee has collected household items, furniture, decorative pieces, electrics, electronics, books, antiques, tools and more. Anyone with items to donate may call 882-7230 for a drop off time at 128 and 132 Federal Street (across from the Jail).

Summer hours at the Old Jail are Saturday and Sunday noon to 4 p.m., June 3 through Oct 1. Visitors are welcome to picnic on the lawns, enjoy the six-acre property and take in views of the Sheepscot River. For directions, visit www.lincolncountyhistory.org.
