Legion members and Cub Scouts work together

Wiscasset American Legion members and Woolwich/Wiscasset Cub Scout Pack 602 joined together to recognize veterans in the Ancient Cemetery off Federal Street in Wiscasset on April 28.
The scouts were able to learn a lot about the meaning of the word veteran, and what Memorial Day is. They formed an appreciation for why the flags are placed in front of certain stones in each cemetery.
The boys also helped locate what seemed to be an unrecognizable or lost headstone for many years, which had no flag in front of it until now. The Legion members and scouts were very excited to have located this lost stone and give this veteran the deserved recognition with his flag. It was a truly memorable evening for all involved.
