Leslie W. Smith
Leslie “Les” Wayne Smith of Edgecomb died November 7, 2013.
He was born March 11, 1925 in Cave City, Ken., to Joe Louis Smith and Ula Florence Whittle. He attended Ashby High School in West Virginia while living in Short Gap. He later attended Cambridge Junior College and Northeast Institute of Technology.
Les was a sergeant in the Army during World War II where, as a medic, met a woman that worked for the Red Cross, Emily (Lee) Berry Schoenfuss. They were married on June 15, 1946 and spent 67 happy years together.
Les was an electrician working out of Edgecomb. He was a member of the Wiscasset Lions Club and the Masons. He was also a founder of the Miscoast U/U Fellowship.
Les got much enjoyment from his grandson, Alexander Leslie Smith (son of Stuart) and his great-granddaughter, Brianna Genther (daughter of Pam Hepburn and granddaughter of Leslie Jr. and Debbie Gould).
He was predeceased by his brother Herald of Wiscasset, brother Charles of Fort Ashby, W.V., and a son, Leslie Wayne Smith Jr. of Edgecomb.
