Lincoln Arts presents Maine Pro Musica, July 12
Lincoln Arts is proud to present Maine Pro Musica, a 55-member orchestra, on Thursday, July 12, at Boothbay Harbor’s beautiful Opera House.
Comprised of professional Maine musicians, this amazing group graces the entire state with a diverse repertoire that inspires people of all ages.
Janna Hymes, the orchestra’s director, has established a reputation for her exciting and dynamic conducting style. A native of New York City, she is a Fulbright Scholar, who holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has studied at the Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, the Festival at Sandpoint in Idaho, and other locations. Her international guest appearances include performances with France’s Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico.
A student of Leonard Bernstein and Gustav Meier, Ms. Hymes is the former music director of the Maine Grand Opera Company -- the list just goes on and on. She is an exceptionally skilled conductor whose artistic and refined style gets to the heart of the music, and the players are known to deliver an extremely well-crafted performance that is precise, spirited and balanced in sound, technique and interpretation. Boothbay Harbor is in for a treat on July 12.
Tickets are available now at Sherman’s, A Silver Lining, the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce office, and the Boothbay Information Center. In addition, you may purchase with MasterCard or Visa on our website, www.lincolnartsfestival.net, or by calling 633-3913.
