Lincoln County Republicans meet Aug. 27
The monthly meeting of Lincoln County Republicans will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Safe Harbor Community Chapel, 50 Mill St., Waldoboro. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the speakers begin at 6 p.m. This month’s guest speakers are House Representative Katrina Smith and gubernatorial candidate David Jones.
Representative Katrina Smith of Palermo is the Assistant Leader of the House Republicans. She is currently serving her second term representing District 62, and she is part of the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement, and Business. Katrina earned her B.A. from Gordon College and has spent her career as a realtor and investor. She is a member of the Maine Association of Realtors, Gun Owners of Maine and the National Rifle Association. Smith and her husband Mike have five children and four grandchildren.
David Jones, a seasoned businessman and real estate broker, is running for governor of Maine with a mission to rebuild Maine’s future and raise the standard of living for hardworking Mainers. For nearly three decades, David has called Maine home, raising a family, building a business, and investing in the communities he serves. With a career rooted in hard work and Jersey toughness, David began working at age 13 and mastered the drywall trade by 17. He owns The FO Bailey Company, Maine’s oldest continuously operating business, founded in 1819. As a broker, he has handled deals from starter homes to major commercial properties, always prioritizing tradition and excellence. Jones also represented Maine as a 2024 RNC National Delegate and Platform Committee member. David and his wife Nancy, live in Falmouth, and have six children - including one adopted from Costa Rica - and are hands-on grandparents to seven grandchildren.
Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items that will be donated to the local food pantry.
A business meeting will follow at 7 p.m. This event is open to registered Republicans.
