Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 2 arrests

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 181 calls for service for the period of March 19 to March 26. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 2,736 calls for service.

Summonses

A 16-year-old male juvenile from Newcastle was issued a summons March 21 for Eluding an Officer; Minor Possessing Liquor; Possessing Marijuana: Under 21 years of age and Operating Vehicle without License, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.

Roger Sockabasin, 22, of Indian Township was issued a summons March 22 for Violating Condition of Release and Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked, on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.

Arrests

Peter W. Witwicki, 63, of Bristol turned himself in and was arrested March 19 on two warrants, one out of Lincoln County for Failure to Appear on an Operating after Suspension, Attaching False Plates and Violating Condition of Release charges and one out of Cumberland County for felony Violating Conditions of Release for a Unlawful Furnishing of Schedule Drugs charge, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Nicholas R. Freeman, 32, of Portland was arrested March 21 for Theft by Authorized Taking or Transfer, on Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson, who was assisted by Boothbay Harbor Chief Doug Snyder.

Accidents

On March 19, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving Rebecca L. Robison, 46, of Newcastle. Ms. Robison was operating her 2021 Toyota Rav4 southbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck, causing front-end damage to her vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.

On March 23, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Samantha F. Casey, 53, of Wiscasset. Ms. Casey entered the parking lot at the Clipper Mart in her 2013 Toyota Avalon and was traveling too fast for the weather conditions (snowing). As a result, she struck the curb and went partially up over an embankment, causing front end and undercarriage damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

On March 23, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Alexei I. Blackman, 36, of Boothbay Harbor and Arielle T. Morabito, 39, of Brunswick. Mr. Blackman was operating his 2001 Volkswagen Beetle eastbound and Ms. Morabito was operating her 2013 Nissan Altima westbound on Route 1. It was snowing and the roads were snow covered and icy and as a result, Blackman lost traction and crossed the centerline, striking Morabito’s vehicle in the driver’s side rear, before leaving the roadway on the left side. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

On March 23, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Dara S. Yiu, 27, of Boothbay Harbor. Ms. Yiu was operating her 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound and the roads were icy due to snow and freezing rain. Yiu was driving too fast for the road conditions and lost control of her vehicle and slid to the right, bounced off a guardrail, went off the road to the left, into a ditch before striking a tree. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
