Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 161 calls for service for the period of  Nov. 19, 2019 to Nov. 26, 2019. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 15,686 calls for service.

RECENT ARRESTS:

11/20/19, Glenn P. Morin, 55, of Bremen was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Gray Road, Bremen, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

11/20/19, Robert N. Benner, 36, of Bristol was arrested for Operating under the Influence; Possession of Firearm by Prohibited Person and Illegal Possession of Firearm, on Martin Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Jonathan Colby, who was assisted by Sgt. Matthew Day.

RECENT ACCIDENTS:

On 11/19/19, an accident occurred on South Colby Road in Somerville involving Kelvi J. Bonilla, 37, of South China. Mr. Bonilla was operating his 2007 Ford Taurus eastbound when he slid off the right side of the road due to icy conditions and struck a utility pole. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

On 11/19/19, an accident occurred on Atlantic Highway in Waldoboro involving William Bragg, 64, of Waldoboro and Marie D. Searles, 24, of Waldoboro. Both vehicles were legally parked in the parking lot of the Waldoboro Fire Department. Mr. Bragg pulled his 2019 Chevrolet Silverado out of a parking space and while turning right, he struck the front driver’s corner of Ms. Searles’ 2006 Audi A6, which was parked and unoccupied. As a result, Bragg’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the passenger side front and rear doors and Searles’ vehicle sustained damage to the driver’s corner and bumper. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.

On 11/20/19, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving William E. Hanson, 56, of Alna. Mr. Hanson was operating his 2000 GMC Sierra southbound when he stated he saw a deer standing in the road and swerved to avoid it, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway on the left side and strike a guardrail. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

On 11/22/19, an accident occurred on Nobleboro Road in Bremen involving David W. Reed, 55, of Bremen. Mr. Reed was operating his 2006 Toyota Matrix westbound when three deer ran into the roadway and he swerved off the road to avoid the deer. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On 11/23/19, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Emily C. Krah, 25, of Newcastle and Kendal O. Steele, 24, of Damariscotta. Ms. Krah was operating her 2009 Ford Edge northbound and tried to make a left hand turn into Mike’s Place. Ms. Steele was operating her 2005 Honda Civic northbound behind Krah’s vehicle when she rear-ended Krah’s vehicle due to being distracted by an unknown cause. Reserve Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On 11/25/19, an accident occurred on State Route 32 in Bristol involving Beatrice S. Chase, 77, of Round Pond. Ms. Chase was operating her 2013 Jeep Wrangler eastbound when she fell asleep, due to a possible medical issue, at the wheel. As a result, she ran off the roadway, hitting a guardrail and rotating her vehicle perpendicular to the road.  Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.
