Maine Maritime Museum to host volunteer recruitment parties
Maine Maritime Museum is seeking volunteers to join its corps of over 250 volunteers for the 2015 season, which runs from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. The museum currently has openings for volunteer greeters, shipyard tour guides, Launch Tank volunteers, gallery docents, trolley tour guides, and Donnell House docents, and will be hosting informational recruitment parties for anyone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities. Training is provided to all volunteers prior to the start of the season.
Dates and times for upcoming recruitment parties are:
Donnell House docents: Provide tours of the museum’s Victorian-era shipbuilder’s home. Thursday, March 26, 1-3:30 p.m., Donnell House
Launch Tank volunteers: Demonstrate how the great wooden schooners were launched. Tuesday, March 31, 1-3:30 p.m., Long Reach Hall
Greeters: Welcome visitors and point out what to see and do at the museum. Thursday, April 2, 1-3:30 p.m., Long Reach Hall
