Maine Media Women hosts journalists February 1
In this age of digital communication, “Keeping Print Alive” will be the theme for a panel of three Maine journalists at the February 1 meeting of Maine Media Women in Damariscotta.
Among the topics up for discussion are the impact of electronic access on newspaper circulation, revenue, and employment; how online and free newspapers sustain themselves; and how the panelists view the future of print versus online news.
Participating on the panel will be Sherwood Olin, editor of the Lincoln County News, Patricia McCarthy, editor of the weekly Cape Courier, and Gina Hamilton, editor of the New Maine Times (online), formerly with the Coastal Journal. Moderator will be MMW member Cynthia Carney, Senior Web Editor with L.L.Bean.
The February 1 meeting, like all MMW meetings, is open to the public, and guests are always welcome. The meeting will be held at the Mobius Center on Business Route 1 in Damariscotta beginning at 9:15 a.m. with coffee and networking.
