Marguerite Adams

Marguerite “Peggy” Adams, 95, of Center Township, Monaca, Pennsylvania died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township, Pennsylvania on Aug. 25, 2017 after a brief illness.

She was born February 1, 1922 in Machias, Maine the daughter of the late Arno and Amy (Hatt) Armstrong. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Machias High School in 1940. After a long career in the insurance and banking industries, she retired from Casco Bank and Trust Company of Portland, Maine. She was a member of First Parish Church of Yarmouth and the American Contract Bridge League. Her hobbies included, knitting, crocheting, reading, bridge and for the past few years the weekly Bingo games.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband of 50 years Bradford Adams and brothers Frederick and Richard Armstrong.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Maxwell (Nora) Lewis of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and Donald Lewis of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Veronica Corbin of PA, Bradford (Cindi) Lewis of CO and Samantha (Eloy) Lopez of CO; great-grandchildren Nicole Krieger, Liam and Blayke Lopez, and Alex, Tyler and Danny Wisor of CO and special great-grandson, Jayden (JJ) Roe of PA: a sister, Joan (Robert) Orne of Connecticut along with special niece Kathy (Billy) Kent of CT and their children Bobby and Amy: nephews Brett and Terry Armstrong as well as numerous cousins throughout New England.

Arrangements are being handled by Gabauer Funeral Home of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth, Maine.
