"Intriguing Flower Photography" with award winning photographer Olga Merrill is designed for adults who have a working knowledge of their SLR camera and wish to expand their understanding of its full functionality in the creation of abstract floral images. Merrill will show how to compose beautiful flower images and how to simplify compositions, taking advantage of natural light. Each participant will receive a creative review session with the goal of producing a striking and cohesive body of work with a unique point of view.

The class will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on May 12 with a rain date at the same time period on May 13. The class is limited to five participants.

Class Includes instructor’s e-Book "Capturing Life and Movement en Plein air," and an article on the subject published in American Artist magazine.

The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 18.  The class is limited to 15 participants.

"Color Counts! A Color Theory Workshop" with nationally respected teaching artist Deena Ball is for adults at any level of artistic endeavor with an interest in mastering color relationships. This class takes a quick look at the historical use of color in painting, and various color theories. The remainder of the two-day workshop will be hands-on work to explore and perfect one’s use of color. Color aid papers will be used to create a variety of collages to learn about color relationships. Students will then move on to using colored pencils to create color studies.

The class will be held 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. May 22 and 23.  A materials fee of $25 will be collected at the class.
