The First Congregational Church of Wiscasset is pleased to introduce Leela Koilpillai as our music director.

Koilpillai was born in India and came to the United States at the age of six. She holds degrees in piano and vocal performance and has studied organ and choral conducting. Koilpillai has taught and conducted every age group and level of experience, from kindergarten to Elderhostel. She has served as organist and choir director in churches in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Portland, Maine.

She will be our organist and will be leading both the Senior Choir and Children’s Choir. She gives lessons in her private piano/vocal studio, holds an associate broker’s license in real estate, and loves to cook, draw, paint, write, and play with her rag-doll kitties.

She told us she is honored to be called to be music director of First Congregational Church and looks forward to being part of the community in Wiscasset.
