Nomination papers available for Woolwich select board

    Nomination papers are available for two seats on the Woolwich select board. Both are three-year terms to be decided at the Nov. 3 general election. The terms of Jason Shaw and Allison Hepler are expiring.

    Nomination papers are available at the town office during business hours and must be returned to the town clerk by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7 with the signatures of at least 25 but not more than 100 qualified, registered voters of Woolwich.

    On Monday night, Aug. 3 the board signed off on the town meeting warrant. The town meeting will be held outdoors on the lawn next door to the municipal building Saturday, Aug. 22 beginning at 9 a.m. Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Limited parking will be available for those who want to remain in their vehicle. The meeting will be broadcast onsite over FM radio.

    Town Administrator Kim Dalton said town reports will be available next week at the town office. The warrant will also be posted at www.woolwich.us

    EMS Director Brian Carlton said the ambulance department responded to 16 calls over the last two weeks, 10 involving transports. Carlton plans to have an ambulance fact sheet for voters at town meeting.
     
    The board unanimously appointed Anthony Blasi town clerk, registrar of voters and deputy tax collector. The board’s next regular meeting is at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 in the municipal building hearing room.
