Novel Jazz at Skidhompha
The Novel Jazz Septet will continue its eighth year of performances at Skidompha Library on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. This will be their final summer performance at the library for this year.
Tunes will come out of the Great American Songbook with a heavy dose of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, from whom the band draws much inspiration. The musicians will include Barney Balch on trombone; Herb Maine, acoustic bass; Mickey Felder, piano; David Clarke, guitar; Mike Mitchell, trumpet; and Bruce Boege, saxophone. We’ll also be welcoming back percussionist Mark Macksoud.
Admission is $13 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for young adults 12-18, children under age 12 accompanied by a parent go free. The library is on Main Street in downtown Damariscotta. For more information, call 563-5513 during business hours.
