Paula Jean Hersom, 49, of Wiscasset died Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Boothbay Harbor on October 2, 1963, a daughter of Allen L. and Geraldine M. (Lamson) Hersom.

She attended schools in Wiscasset, graduating from Wiscasset High School in 1981.  She also attended University of Maine, Presque Isle.  

She was employed as a personal care assistant at Mobius for several years and was a cook at Camp Kieve for more than 10 years.

She enjoyed beading and making her own sea glass jewelry. She loved sports, and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and the Wiscasset Redskins. She enjoyed spending time with her family at annual cookouts, especially the Fourth of July.  She loved animals, especially cats.

She is survived by her longtime companion of 30 years, Wendell Delano of Wiscasset; one brother, Allen L. Hersom and his wife Sherrie Hersom of Edgecomb; two sisters, Susan H. Lombardo and her husband David Lombardo of Hollis and Julie Madden and her husband Bob Madden of Washington; one niece, Luciana Lombardo; five nephews, Ian Hersom, Joey Hersom, Brady Lombardo, Kerry Madden and Patrick Madden; and one grandnephew, Bryson Hersom.

A private service will be held at a later date.
