It’s the 91st season!
Wed, 05/22/2019 - 9:00am

The Pemaquid Art Gallery located at Lighthouse Park will open its doors for a pre-season exhibit over Memorial Day Weekend.  Visitors are invited to visit the Gallery on Friday, May 24 to Monday, May 27 during the hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Gallery will continue weekend hours on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2  and Friday June 7 through Sunday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Pemaquid Group of Artists is a nonprofit organization consisting of artist members juried into the group. The 33 artists exhibiting their artwork in 2019 are all from Lincoln County. This season the artists are pleased to welcome two new member artists.  Barbara Vanderbilt and Belva Ann Prycel have been juried into membership. Kimberly Skillin Traina and John Butke will be exhibiting their work as 2019 Seasonal Guest Artists. Come and see the work of these new artist members and guests, as well as the returning 29 member artists.

Each year the gallery provides financial aid to one or more community art programs, as well as a Museum Pass for the Portland Museum of Art, available to anyone at Skidompha Library.  Artist-donated paintings and Gallery Patrons all help to make these gifts possible.

The 2019 exhibiting artists who are returning include Barbara Applegate, Debra Arter, Bruce Babb, Julie Babb, Stephen Busch, Midge Coleman, Trudi Curtis, William Curtis, Dianne Dolan, Peggy Farrell, Sarah Fisher, Bill Hallett, Claire Hancock, Kay Sawyer Hannah, Kathleen Horst, Hannah Ineson, Will Kefauver, Jan Kilburn, Barbara Klein, Patti Leavitt, Sally Loughridge,  Marlene Loznicka,  Judy Nixon, Paul Sherman, Cindy Spencer, Liliana Thelander, Bob Vaughan, Steve Viega and Bev Walker.

The Pemaquid Group of Artists invites you to attend its official 91st season opening reception on Sunday, June 9 at  5 p.m.  Ongoing sales permit the gallery to display new works continually.

After the June 9 reception,  the gallery will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Columbus Day.  For more information, please call the gallery at 677-2752 or visit www.pemaquidartgallery.com.
