Alna’s Ed Pentaleri, former selectman, is running for the vacant spot on the board. The election is Dec. 14.

“I’m committed to Alna and all of its residents,” said Pentaleri, who lives in Head Tide. “I’m running for select board to put my knowledge, experience and energy to work for a town I love.” As a former select board member, Pentaleri understands the day-to-day and month-to-month business of the town, and he has solid working relationships with current members of the select board, town clerks and treasurer, as well as the town’s auditor and assessor. “Most important,” said Pentaleri, “I’m committed to serving all the town’s residents in a constructive, fair, and respectful way.”
Pentaleri has a long record of community and civil service that includes his service as a selectman; a member of the Alna Volunteer Fire Department; creating Alna’s first modern website and contributing to the current one; receiving the 2017 Spirit of America Award for community service in Alna; serving on Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission since April 2019; and serving as member and chair for both the Planning Commission and Historical
Architectural Review Board for Fremont, California, a city of 235,000 people in the San Francisco Bay area, for a combined 13 years.

“My wife Debra and I came to Alna after we retired because the community offered many things we value so deeply,” said Pentaleri. “Alna is a beautiful rural town with a rich history, a well-preserved natural environment, and a community rich in character, with residents of many backgrounds and varied life experiences. We all have varying opinions about issues, but,” noted Pentaleri, “I know that we share a desire to preserve and strengthen what is special about our town.

“If elected to serve again on the Alna select board, I am committed to serving with integrity and treating all residents with respect. I hope my neighbors will reflect on our shared values when they vote on Dec. 14.”

Pentaleri is unopposed on the ballot.
